    Financial and strategic planning

    • Expand all direct sales channels to meet annual and strategic goals for profitability, sales revenue, customer visits, wine club memberships, and expenses for all direct sales channels including TR, Special Events, Virtual and Onsite Events, Internet, Phone, Culinary, and Cellar Club
    • Participates in regular manager and senior manager meetings, representing DTC
    • Budgeting and creation of reports to track and report sales information
    • Create and oversee the budget and sales/marketing plan for direct sales
    • Develop recommendations on further marketing, events, and promos to increase sales
    • With the Executive Team and President, create the long-term strategic vision for direct sales channels

     

    Sales profitability

    • Plan product assortment and manage pricing levels for direct sales channels
    • Work with the Marketing Manager to create promotions and marketing plans to further direct sales efforts and ensure we are always communicating with and effectively selling to our customers
    • Sustain sales programs by creating solid promotions with Marketing
    • Oversee and build events program: onsite, offsite, private, and virtual
    • Ensure a welcoming and educational environment for trade visitors, including hosting trade guests for trade-related tours, tastings, meals, and events to aid in future sales opportunities
    • Support distributor sales and trade efforts as needed to support overall sales
    • Coordinate outreach to local concierge, tour groups, limousine companies, etc.

     

    Management and customer service

    • Oversee hospitality team including Tasting Room, Events, Club, Culinary and phone/internet sales to ensure the highest levels of customer service and sales efforts
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to improve the efficiency of the DTC team, including hiring, training, evaluating, and motivating staff
    • Conduct annual or quarterly performance appraisals of direct reports
    • Represent Sokol Blosser at industry events and through active participation in the industry
    • Collaborate with the Estate Manager to ensure that the facility and grounds are in pristine condition

     

    Skills and abilities

    • 10+ years related hospitality/sales management experience
    • Budgeting and accounting fundamental knowledge
    • Solid team management background to motivate and coach a team to be successful
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Strong reasoning, judgment, analytical, and critical thinking skills
    • Creative thinking skills and ability to think creatively
    • A desire to learn about anything and everything
    • Able to multi-task and prioritize with simultaneous deadlines
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent training skills; able to teach and demonstrate various skills
    • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, WineDirect a plus)
    • Able to lift and carry 45 lbs.; able to stand for extended periods
    • Have or be able to obtain an OLCC server’s permit
    • Able to work weekends and evenings as needed throughout the year
    • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about wine and the wine/food lifestyle
  • Tasting Room Support Associate (Dishwasher)

    Our Tasting Room is looking to add a support staff member to join us full-time on our vineyard in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Our support team is responsible for making sure our back-of-the-house runs smoothly in order to ensure we are providing the best experience to our guests. We are a great team and we work hard, have fun and like each other!

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Clean all dishes, bottles and glassware.
    • Clear and sanitize tables, surfaces and furniture after a guests leave.
    • Keep water bottles filled.
    • Scrub and polish tasting bottles and glassware to ensure they are in their best condition.
    • Ensure tasting areas are clean and presentable.
    • Keep cleaning supplies stocked throughout the shift.
    • Help keep property and work areas clean.
    • Floor care; sweeping and mopping floor.
    • Closing duties to include ensure all items in the support kitchen are cleaned, polished and put away.
    • Empty all trash and recycling as needed; removed from building and placed in the dumpster prior to departing.
    • Assist in set up and take down of winery events including chairs, tables, service ware, tents, etc.
    • Fulfill wine purchase orders and assist guest with carrying their purchases to their vehicle.
    • Help with food preparation when necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Able to lift and carry 45 lbs.
    • Must be able to stand, bend, reach, twist and move for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to work weekends and evenings throughout the year.
    • Able to use a knife and other apparatuses to prepare and serve food.
    • Able to prioritize and stay organized.
    • Possess or able to obtain a food handler’s card.
